Great Events Before the End of June

Looking for something fun to do next week? Kalispell has you covered! This post will highlight three great events happening in the city before the end of June, including fishing, food, and funk (the musical genre). You won't want to miss out on these!

To begin with, how about learning a new skill? If you don't fish, then it's time to start! The Snappy Sport Senter is offering a FREE Fly Fishing Class for beginners on Tuesday, June 28 from 7 to 8 p.m. Steve (of Snappy's fishing department fame) will be happy to walk you though all the basics of this great sport. Fly rods and reels will be available for attendees to practice with or feel free to bring your own. Although the class is free, class size is limited to 12 people, so please register in the store or by calling 406-257-7525. Snappy's is located at 1400 U.S. Hwy 2 E, Kalispell, MT 59901.

If you aren't interested in learning to fish, how about a good old picnic? This is the 25th year of the Kalispell "Picnic in the Park" summer concert series! The entire series kicks off on Tuesday, June 28 at 7 p.m. and runs through August 24. On Tuesday, come down to Depot Park in Historic Downtown Kalispell (located at the corner of Center and Main Streets) to enjoy great music and delicious food from a variety of vendors! The tunes for the evening will be played by the Luke O'Connell Band, which is listed on the event poster as "anything from country to rock classics". The festivities last until 9 p.m.

If you can't make it to the Tuesday Picnic in the Park concert, don't worry! You'll have a second chance to enjoy the fun on Wednesday, June 29, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for the lunchtime concert! The music for that concert will be provided by Ron Sanders.

Our final offering takes place on Thursday, June 30 from 5 to 8 p.m. and involves more music and food, as well as a carnival atmosphere. What could it be...? Thursday!Fest! Billed as "a carnival that’s been crossed with a craft fair, a food court, a concert, and a beer garden", there's something for everyone at this amazing event. The carnival will be located on Second Avenue East between 1st and 2nd Street East, in front of The Museum at Central School. Music will be provided by Andre Floyd and Mood Iguana, whose style is described on the Thursday!Fest concert list as "funky blues" (see, I told you there'd be funk).

There you have it! Three (or really four) amazing opportunities to have a great time in Kalispell before July flips June into the rearview mirror.
